Welcome to My Life Planned Out.
Don’t let the name confuse you. My life is in no way organised or perfect of even planned out. This is more about me sharing my planner journey with others. I’ve been planning now for nearly two years and have tried several planners in that time – there are more that I would like to try! Maybe you’ll have a look around and find something helpful or maybe you’ll just enjoy my ramblings, but hopefully you’ll enjoy it along the way.
So how did I fall down the rabbit hole into the planner world? Well… it all started with a rather unfortunate series of events that led to me in a doctor’s office discussing my mental health. It was a tough time and while the doctor was very supportive, the next step was not. I was referred to a nurse to look at different therapeutic options and she made me feel like I had made the whole thing up, that I didn’t need any help, it would just pass. I was at a loss. I knew things were not OK and the doctor supported me in that view. So I took to the internet to explore options of how I could help myself.
Several hopeless searches later, and in what felt like a pit of despair, I discovered a Buzzfeed article on Bullet Journals. It fascinated me! So plunging deeper into the rabbit hole I went and discovered how several people were using them to manage their mental health and day to day life. Within 48 hours I had three different notebooks, some washi tape and a new set of coloured fineliners.
That led to YouTube videos, instagram, blogs and the discovery of more planners. The rest so to speak is history. I still run my bullet journal as the main way of managing my mental health, but I have explored lots of other planners alongside it.
So that’s the basics of me and my planning. Everything here is my own opinion and everything I have paid for with my own money or been gifted by my husband.
